First Look: Escort Slugger and Slugger Tact Shotguns

Escort Shotguns just unveiled two new 12-gauge pump-action shotgun models, the new Escort Slugger and Escort Slugger Tact. Both models are designed around the same modular, pump-action mechanism and are built to be security-focused shotguns. As such, both the new Escort Slugger and Slugger Tact have 18-inch barrels with a fixed, cylinder-bore choke. This allows for easy interchangeability between buckshot and slugs. Likewise, both of these shotguns have standard 3-inch magnum chambers.

Escort also manufactures the Slugger and Slugger Tact shotguns with oxidation-resistant chrome-plated steel barrels. These barrels are proof tested at the Escort factory in Turkey to ensure maximum durability, quality and structural integrity.

In addition to 18-inch security/tactical oriented barrels, both of these shotguns are also built around lightweight alloy receivers. The Slugger comes outfitted with rugged synthetic furniture, a soft rubber buttpad and a fixed-blade front sight.

The Slugger Tact offers all the core features of the original Slugger, but with a more “tactical” furniture layout. Slugger Tact shotguns include a rubberized ergonomic pistol grip for superior control and a tactical shotgun buttstock that comes with a five-shell ammunition holder built directly into the stock. These shotguns also shop with a Picatinny accessory rail on the fore-end for mounting optics or tactical lights.
