New Resident Evil Requiem DLC Shadow Dropped

Capcom has suddenly shadow-dropped DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, entitled Leon Must Die Forever. The new Resident Evil Requiem mode will give returning players something new to do, and is out now for all platforms the game is currently available on.

Resident Evil games have featured minigames and side-stories for a long time, including fan favorites like The Mercenaries mode, which give players access to a variety of characters that face hordes of enemies with a timer counting down, or story-expanding DLC like Not a Hero in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. With Resident Evil Requiem now a couple of months old, it’s starting to receive its own side mission additions.

Resident Evil Requiem Shadow Drops Leon Must Die Forever Mode

Resident Evil Requiem has now received an update bringing it to version 1.300.000, and with it, new free DLC called Leon Must Die Forever. Similar to Resident Evil 7‘s Ethan Must Die mode, players must face some of the game’s tough enemies, this time playing exclusively as Leon. However, unlike Ethan Must Die, Leon Must Die Forever is a roguelike that tasks Leon with getting through twenty levels without dying. Players start out at level 1 on Main Street, and gradually work their way through Raccoon City hordes, eventually reaching enemies like The Commander, Super Tyrant, and Victor himself. Players should be aware that they will need to complete the main story of the game in order to access this DLC.

According to the DLC’s description, Leon has access to special abilities, including enhancements, which can be used to improve his weapons’ firepower, the durability of his hatchet, and more. Players should seek out glowing doors to advance to the next level, with enemies increasing in difficulty the higher the level that Leon is on. Like with other roguelikes, dying means game over and starting over from the start, so players should choose their enhancements and route carefully. Players can also use points from the main campaign to influence which random weapon is chosen, while boosts can be earned by killing enemies and clearing areas.
