A U.S. Army-inspired special tool watch has hit the market, but only for a limited time.
Swiss company Ball Watch launched the Engineer III Army watch on Sept 8. It is available in four different dial colors: black, blue, turquoise and yellow. Consumers who want to purchase it have to hurry as preorders conclude in one month, on Oct. 14, with delivery beginning this December.
According to a press release, there are four models available for preorder and purchase. The cheapest model is $2,899 and the most expensive is $4,249.
The stainless steel watch officially licensed by the Army is C.O.S.C. caliber and fortified by a 1,000 Gauss anti-magnetic shield. It glows in the dark automatically with luminous technology and comes in 40mm and 43mm case sizes.
The watch, which features a silver eagle insignia emblazoned on its dial with a five-point star logo on its back, is also water-resistant up to 100 meters and contains a SpringLock hairspring anti-shock system to make it durable in rough conditions.
“Rooted in an American heritage, Ball Watch Company is proud to honor the Army’s impact and pay tribute to all civilians who have answered the call to carry such a vital responsibility—as leaders, role models and heroes,” the company said in a statement.
The company is selling 1,775 pieces in its two models as it was in the year 1775 that the Army was founded.
Those who wish to purchase it can add a customized dog tag engraved with names, birthdates, blood types and more on the back case.
Navy SEAL Watch Released
A similar watch released by another company and recognizing a different service was released in July.
U.S. watch brand Luminox launched a new watch with the Navy SEAL Foundation in July as part of its ongoing partnership with the naval charity.
The $925 Luminox Navy SEAL Foundation 3220.XS.3228.NSF is made of IP Gun stainless steel to promote durability and toughness.
Luminox now has nine watches in its Navy SEAL Foundation collection, with proceeds from its collection supporting the Naval Special Warfare community and their families.
The Swiss company Panerai, which was once the official supplier of gauges to the Royal Italian Navy, also released a watch in June which they said had endured enough stress testing to mimic 10 years of wear and tear. The watch, called the Submersible Navy SEALs PAM01738, was designed with 500 meters of water resistance.
It released another watch in July, the Submersible Navy SEALs AfniotechTM Experience Edition PAM01089. It was designed with 1,000 meter water-resistance and has blue and green luminous elements so it can be read underwater.
The new Army inspired watch is available until 14 October 2026. It costs £1,800 ($2,431) to preorder it and £2,400 ($3,2422) at retail price.
