Winchester Ammo in the Winner’s Circle

Austin Dillon, driver of the No. 3 Bass Pro Shops/Winchester Deer Season XP Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, took first place in the Cook Out 400 NASCAR race at Richmond, VA, on Aug. 16. Dillon led for 107 of the 400 laps to secure his second consecutive victory in the event.

Dillon’s victory has locked him in to be a contender in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, which are contested over the final 10 races of the season. The regular Cup Series season came to an end with the conclusion of the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway, which took place Aug 23. He finished 22nd in that race.

The No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet he drove to victory—and into the winner’s circle— in Richmond featured a special paint scheme that included Winchester Ammunition and Deer Season XP. It’s specifically engineered for deer hunting and one of the many flagship products familiar to firearm owners.

The famed ammunition manufacture’s logo has been riding on the legendary No. 3 car throughout this year’s racing season. Its first appearance was at the famed Daytona 500.

Dillon qualified in the 15th slot for the playoffs this year. The 16 eligible drivers now compete in a four-round format, in which drivers are eliminated until only four remain. That quartet then vies for the title in a season-ending, championship race.

The first in that series, the Cook Out Southern 500, takes place this Sunday, Aug. 31, in Darlington, SC. The No. 3 car has a history of success at the famed track, too, with legendary driver Dale Earnhardt putting it in the winners nine times at Darlington Raceway.

Winchester is the leading small-caliber ammunition brand for hunting, recreational shooting and law enforcement. The company is the largest supplier to the U.S. military and the legendary Winchester brand’s 159-year history is founded on principles of integrity, hard work and a strong commitment to its loyal customers.
