First Look: Galco APO Belt Holster for Glock G17

Galco Gunleather is now offering its APO (Auto-Pistol Outdoorsman) strong-side belt holster to fit the Glock G17 9mm pistol.

The Galco Gunleather APO is a premium, hand-molded steerhide holster designed for field use and meant to be worn while hiking, riding off-road vehicles or horses or just any time you are spending time in the great outdoors. Besides using Galco’s signature steerhide construction, APO holsters also include a traditional retention strap to help secure the pistol while it is holstered. The design also incorporates a user-adjustable tension screw which allows the wearer to set the feel of the pistol’s draw to his or her liking. In addition to being carried strong side, APO holsters can also be carried cross-draw. The upper portion of the holster is also designed to accommodate pistols with slide-mounted electronic red dot sights if they are installed on your pistol.

Galco APO pistol belt loops are directly built into the rear of the holster and these can accommodate field and gun belts up to 1.75 inches in width. Customers have the choice of purchasing APO holsters with either black or tan leather finishes.

The Glock G17 is Glock’s original flagship duty-size, polymer-frame, striker-fired 9 mm pistol that features a 4.5-inch long barrel and a full-size grip that accommodates a flush-fit 17-round magazine. This model, now in its fifth generation, is also Glock’s first production firearm, having first been adopted by the Austrian army in the mid-1980s. To date, it remains an extremely popular choice for civilian, military and law enforcement end users.
