First Look: Bear Creek Arsenal 277 Fury Uppers

Bear Creek Arsenal is offering .277 Fury upper receiver assemblies that fit with standard AR-10-pattern lower receivers. Bear Creek’s new uppers, which consist of three individual models, are available with traditional charging handles and side-charging handles. A third model consists of a manually operated bolt-action variant. All three new Bear Creek Arsenal .277 Fury upper receiver assemblies are built around 16-inch .227 Fury barrels and feature BCA Talon Split M-Lok hand guards.

Bear Creek Arsenal .277 Fury Upper Receiver Features

  • Precision-driven barrels: Tuned for peak performance with the .277 Fury’s ballistics
  • Complete uppers: Everything is included; the barrel, BCG, charging handle and M-Lok split rail handguard, ready to run right out of the box
  • Compatibility: Fits DPMS Gen 1 low-profile AR-10 lowers
  • Available with 16-inch barrels and in rear charging, side charging and bolt action styles

The .277 Fury is one of the most modern bottleneck rifle cartridges currently available on the market. The .277 Fury round was originally developed by SIG Sauer for the U.S. military’s NGSW (Next Generation Squad Weapons) program. A unique aspect about the .277 Fury is that it relies on a hybrid brass and steel case design in order to contain the higher pressures that it uses drive a 6.8mm projectile at muzzle velocities averaging around 3,000 fps, with projectile weights from 113 to 155 grains. The .277 Fury round has the potential to offer magnum-rifle-cartridge-like performance in a standard or “short action” length cartridge. For semi-automatic rifles, the .277 Fury works well with DPMS pattern AR-10 lower receivers, which is what Bear Creek Arsenal’s new .277 upper receiver assemblies are designed for.
