First Look: Banish 12 Shotgun Suppressor

Banish Suppressors is announcing the new Banish 12 shotgun suppressor. Designed with the outdoors in mind, the 12-gauge shotgun suppressor is built to reduce report and recoil while preserving the shotgun’s handling and performance. With that in mind, the Banish 12 was engineered to be as light and compact as possible while still delivering hearing-safe suppression. It also offers unobstructed sight lines and utilizes interchangeable chokes to ensure shooters can see their targets and adjust their shot patterns.

“I am excited to finally unveil the Banish 12 shotgun suppressor,” said Brandon Maddox, Banish Suppressors founder and CEO. “Our engineering team has been working on this project for a long time, going through more than 50 design iterations to make sure they got it right. They challenged themselves to develop the first true hunting shotgun suppressor, and they nailed it. The Banish 12 is a gamechanger, and I’m excited to see it in waterfowl blinds, uplands fields, and turkey woods this season.”

One of the great traditions in wingshooting is sharing the hunt with others. But as those who have been in a full blind know, when the call comes to “take ‘em,” it can get very loud. The Banish 12 dramatically suppresses the sound of the shot and can bring most 12-gauge loads down to hearing safe levels.

Banish 12 uses additive manufacturing and an all-titanium construction. Premium materials and cutting-edge processes allow engineers to design and produce a suppressor with a sophisticated internal structure, but no excess bulk or weight. Comparatively light at just 17.6 ounces, the Banish 12’s distinctive exterior ensures the suppressor will not obstruct the shooter’s sight line from the barrel to the bead to the bird.

The Banish 12 uses a specialized mount that matches your shotgun’s choke tube and additional mounts are available for swapping the suppressor between different shotgun makes and models. To tune shot patterns, the Banish 12 comes with its own set of three choke tubes—Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full—which screw into the end of the suppressor. Additional chokes in a variety of constrictions are also available for purchase.
