First Look: Auto-Ordnance Wastelander Thompson

In collaboration with Koted Arms, Auto Ordnance is unveiling the new Wastelander Thompson, a customized semi-automatic version of John Taliaferro Thompson’s classic .45 ACP submachine gun, the “Tommy Gun.”

The limited edition run of these 25 Auto-Ordnance Wastelanders is inspired by games and science fiction enthusiasts. Naturally, the Wastelander uses one of the 20th century’s most iconic firearms as its backdrop. With the assistance of Koted Arms, the Wastelander has a simulated battleworn finish that embodies trials and tribulations of struggle through a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Koted Arms incorporated strategic laser engravings and graphics on each of these 25 different firearms to convey that sense of post apocalyptic struggle.

The customized artistic touches and visual work found on each of the 25 limited total up to over 80 hours of hands-on work. Besides the artistic touches, the Auto-Ordnance Wastelander guns have a 16.5 inch “finned” barrel that’s chambered for the classic .45 ACP cartridge. The finned barrel’s muzzle also includes a classically styled Thompson compensator. These old guns were never known for their light weight and as they’re machined from steel and use hearty wooden furniture, overall weight comes in at over 13 pounds. With its barrel and compensator the overall length is 41 inches long. Each Auto-Ordnance Wastelander ships with one 20-round stick magazine and one 50-round Thompson drum. Finally, as collectible limited edition items, each of the 25 units includes its own letter of authenticity.

“In a world where only the strong survive, your equipment needs to be as unyielding as you are,” said a representative for Auto-Ordnance. “The Wastelander Thompson is more than just a firearm; it’s a symbol of perseverance, meticulously crafted for those who face the harsh realities of a post-apocalyptic new world in role playing games and fiction.”
