First Look: 6000 Series Safariland Holsters For The Staccato HD

The Safariland Group has now expanded its popular Safariland 6000 series tactical duty holsters to fit Staccato’s new HD handgun models. At launch, these new Safariland holsters are available for 4-inch-barrel models.

Safariland’s 6000 Series consists of externally worn tactical duty holsters that include Safariland’s ALS and SLS retention systems. The external shell on this holster is manufactured from thermo-molded plastic and wrapped in a durable nylon cordura material. End users can buy these holsters in black, OD green, flat dark earth, multicam and black multicam. Occasionally, special editions like US Desert “Chocolate Chip” or US M81 Woodland patterns are also available.

The ALS and SLS consist of internal retention locks and external hoods that help keep a handgun inside the holster. Depending on the specific 6000 Series holster, it may feature either the ALS only or both the ALS and SLS. These safety features were designed to make the pistol impossible to grab by a third party, which is especially useful for law enforcement officers.

Most 6000 series holsters, especially the latest models like the Safariland 6354 RDSO or the older Safariland 6390 are also designed to accommodate pistols with electronic slide-mounted reflex sights inside the holster.

The Staccato HD is a variant of Staccato 2011’s popular Staccato 2011 P model. Instead of feeding from the standard Staccato 2011 double-stack magazine, the new Staccato HD models feed from full-size 9mm Glock-pattern magazines which are both reliable and common on the market today.

“At Safariland, we are focused on delivering high-performance gear that professionals can count on,” said Eric Gasvoda, Vice President and General Manager of Duty Gear for Safariland. “The demand for Staccato HD fits has been strong, and we’re proud to meet that need with a solution built for performance.”
