Watch brand Luminox has launched a new watch with the Navy SEAL Foundation as part of its ongoing partnership with the naval charity.
The $925 watch is called the Luminox Navy SEAL Foundation 3220.XS.3228.NSF and is made of IP Gun stainless steel to promote durability and toughness. It is blacked out and has an anti-reflective sapphire crystal above its dial. The watch offers 200 meter water resistance and is supported by a screw-down crown and screw-in case back for added protection against water intrusion, according to Luminox, while a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating further enhances durability and readability.
It comes as part of Luminox’s partnership with the Navy SEAL Foundation, which began in 2020. Luminox now has nine watches in its Navy SEAL Foundation collection, with proceeds from its collection supporting the Naval Special Warfare community and their families.
“We value all the sacrifices the Navy SEALs and their families make to bring safety and security to this country. They are an essential part of Luminox’s history, trusting us and becoming a guide for our brand. Continuing our relationship with the Navy SEAL Foundation gives us the chance to give back to the community that has provided us all with so much,” Lumondi CEO Lluis Sole said in a statement in 2021.
In March, Luminox launched a limited-edition watch called the Guardian. The watch used technology to ensure it could glow for up to 25 years in any light condition.
“We are extremely grateful to Luminox for all their support over the years and couldn’t be more excited about them becoming an Official Partner,” the Navy SEAL Foundation said in a statement when the partnership was announced. They have been dedicated to the mission of NSW for nearly 30 years, so this partnership only demonstrates the strength of their resolve.”
Other brands have also partnered with the Navy SEAL Foundation to develop watches.
The company Panerai released a watch in June which they said had endured enough stress testing to mimic 10 years of wear and tear. The watch, called the Submersible Navy SEALs PAM01738, was designed with 500 meters of water resistance.
