Titanfall-Like Shooter Empulse Reveals First Gameplay

Titanfall-Like Shooter Empulse Reveals First Gameplay

Following its official announcement, Splitgate studio 1047 Games has released a cinematic reveal trailer for its Titanfall-inspired shooter, Empulse. The upcoming shooter is a new direction for the developer, departing from the Portal and Halo-inspired Splitgate for a movement-focused, mech-centric competitive FPS that could fill the gap Respawn Games left almost ten years ago.

After a series of rumors that 1047 Games was moving on to its next project following a turbulent year for Splitgate 2, the development studio officially announced its next project, Empulse, on May 21, 2026. Inspired by shooters like Titanfall and Black Ops 3, Empulse shed traditional, rigid FPS mechanics for a fluid, movement-focused shooter system that integrates wall-running and verticality into its gameplay repertoire. And of course, Empulse will feature the oh-so-important mechs, but with a “power weapon” approach to how they work. The game will receive a full reveal on June 7, 2026, but before then, it has a little something for fans.

Empulse Reveals Cinematic Gameplay Trailer with First Look at Mechs

Fans can now get an early look at what Empulse has in store for them with the new Early Access Cinematic Trailer, showcasing the game’s grapple mechanics, parkour-based movement, and a glimpse at what the mechs will look like. The footage keeps it light on the gunplay, but it seems to have a little bit of everything ahead of the upcoming full reveal. The 40-second trailer also shows the game’s P.A.I.N.T. movement system, which 1047 Games states is another Portal-inspired mechanic that replaces traditional movement-shooter jump pads. Early access for Empulse starts later this year, with signups already live on the game’s official website.

For the full gameplay reveal, fans will have to tune in to the PC Gaming Show on June 7, 2026, which will presumably go into more depth about all things Empulse before the game launches in early access. Over on Twitter, 1047 Games has issued a statement that goes into a bit more detail about what the shooter is all about, and it seems the studio is loud and proud about its Titanfall inspirations.
