Soldiers’ Angels 250th Anniversary Campaign Honors Military Service

Soldiers’ Angels 250th Anniversary Campaign Honors Military Service

As the country marks the 250th anniversary of its founding, Soldiers’ Angels is launching a campaign aimed at turning the milestone into support for service members, veterans and military families.

The San Antonio, Texas-based nonprofit’s “250 Years of Service” campaign allows supporters who donate at least $25 to add a personalized star to an honor wall at Soldiers’ Angels headquarters. The wall is meant to recognize current and former service members, military families, loved ones who served, and others connected to the military community.

Supporters can dedicate a star in their own name, in honor of a service member or veteran, in memory of someone who served, or in recognition of their own military service, according to campaign materials shared with Military.com.

Amy Palmer, president and CEO of Soldiers’ Angels and an Air Force veteran, said the campaign is a way to connect the country’s 250th birthday with the generations of Americans who served in uniform.

“As an Air Force Veteran, I’ve always believed that service is one of the things that defines America,” Palmer said in a campaign message. “This year, as our nation celebrates its 250th birthday, I’ve been reflecting on the generations of service members, veterans and military families whose sacrifices helped shape our country.”

The campaign is scheduled to run throughout July. As donations come in, Soldiers’ Angels said the wall will fill with stars and stories from supporters across the country.

Soldiers’ Angels is a self-described national nonprofit that provides aid, comfort and resources to service members, veterans and military families. The organization’s programs include food assistance, VA hospital support, care package initiatives and volunteer service opportunities.

How Donations Can Lead to Honoring Loved Ones

The stars are tied to three giving levels: a $25 “Patriot Star,” a $250 “Liberty Star” and a $2,500 “Legacy Star.”

Each star includes one name or dedication, and supporters who want to recognize multiple people can add more stars by increasing their donation amount, according to the campaign.

Donors also have the option to share the story behind their dedication. Soldiers’ Angels said selected stories may be highlighted during the campaign as part of the organization’s broader tribute to service members, veterans and military families.

“Every star has a story,” Palmer said. “When you add your star, you’ll have the opportunity to share the story behind your dedication.”

Money raised through the campaign will support Soldiers’ Angels programs that include care packages for deployed service members, food assistance for veterans and military families, support for hospitalized veterans, and volunteer-led efforts for the military-connected community.

The nonprofit said that in 2025 it supported more than 2 million service members, veterans and family members, and provided food assistance to 41,873 service members and veterans. It has sent more than 1 million care packages to combat-deployed service members over the past 22 years.

The campaign comes as military organizations, veterans groups and communities across the country are tying the semiquincentennial to military service. While the 250th anniversary is largely focused on the nation’s founding, Soldiers’ Angels is positioning its campaign around the people who have served since then and those still serving today.

For Soldiers’ Angels, the campaign also serves as a fundraising push at a time when support organizations continue to point to food insecurity, deployment strain and rising costs as ongoing challenges for troops, veterans and military families.

The organization’s food assistance programs include monthly food distributions and food pantry support for eligible service members and veterans in several cities. It has deployed support programs including letters, cards and care packages sent to service members overseas.

Supporters can participate in the 250 Years of Service campaign through Soldiers’ Angels’ campaign page. The organization said the honor wall will continue growing throughout July as supporters add names, dedications and stories.
