A leaker with a strong record of accuracy alleges that Resident Evil: Veronica and the rumored Resident Evil Zero remake will tie into Resident Evil Requiem. The leak arrives while fans await Resident Evil Requiem DLC, as anticipation for Resident Evil: Veronica rises, and curiosity regarding other Resident Evil remakes abounds.
Resident Evil has largely been on a roll in recent years, with both the remade games and the new arrivals being widely praised and selling well. Given their successes, and the recent reveal of Resident Evil: Veronica arriving as a remake of the classic Code: Veronica game, fans are curious about what else the remake future holds for the franchise, which led to this newly revealed tidbit.
Resident Evil Requiem, Veronica, and Zero Are Tied Together
Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem has shared a new piece of information about the upcoming Resident Evil remakes, including Resident Evil: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero, with the latter of the two not yet having been confirmed by Capcom. Dusk Golem responded to a claim that the entire franchise is being remade with the intention of restructuring the narrative, and said that it’s not true. However, they did indicate that Resident Evil: Veronica and a Zero remake would tie into Resident Evil: Requiem, but that’s largely due to the development process. Resident Evil: Veronica, Resident Evil Requiem, and the rumored Resident Evil Zero remake were allegedly all being worked on at the same time, leading to this connection, which was further reinforced through Requiem‘s story and its myriad of Easter eggs referencing prior Resident Evil games.
With that said, there was some unfortunate news for those fans who are hoping for Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 remakes. Dusk Golem indicates that remakes of those games are not in development, and that there’s reportedly no current internal plan to do so. They also note that there isn’t an overarching plan to remake every game in the Resident Evil series up to Resident Evil 7, as Capcom is taking the process one step at a time. However, they expect that if sales of the upcoming remakes perform as well as the Resident Evil 2 remake did, then RE 5 and 6 will likely join the list of remakes somewhere down the road.
