Red Dead Redemption is Making a Comeback at a Discounted Price

Red Dead Redemption is Making a Comeback at a Discounted Price

Red Dead Redemption is back as a PS5 game disc, with a starting price that is notably lower than the digital version of the game. PS5 copies of Red Dead Redemption are now available on Amazon, with both the base game and the Undead Nightmare standalone expansion pack packed onto the disc.

Originally released in May 2010 on the PS3 and Xbox 360, Red Dead Redemption is an open-world title set in a fictionalized version of the American Wild West. The base game’s main story focuses on the outlaw John Marston, who is tasked by the US government to find and apprehend three former members of the notorious Van der Linde gang. With various activities such as gambling, bounty hunting, and shootouts to engage in, Red Dead Redemption is still considered one of the best open-world games despite being available for over a decade.

Red Dead Redemption Finally Has A Physical PS5 Launch

Now, physical PS5 copies of Red Dead Redemption are officially on the market for collectors and fans to peruse. PS5 discs of Red Dead Redemption are priced at $29.99 on Amazon, which is $20 cheaper than the digital edition on the PlayStation Store. Free shipping is available to Amazon Prime subscribers at no additional cost, though delivery times and available inventory will vary. While PS4 disc copies can be upgraded to the PS5 port at no added cost, this method requires additional data to be downloaded and installed. Given that physical PS5 games must be installed onto the console’s internal solid-state drive (SSD), or onto an additional m.2 SSD storage drive, PS5 game discs can be handy for users with low download speeds.

Users can also pick up physical copies of Red Dead Redemption on PS4 or Nintendo Switch on Amazon at the same price of $29.99, though PS4 copies were recently discounted to $24.99. The PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption includes features like gameplay at 60 frames per second (FPS), HDR support on compatible displays, haptic feedback on the DualSense controller, and native 4K resolution with level of detail and quality enhancements. Additionally, PS4 save data will be transferred over to the PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption, so players can pick up right where they left off.
