Oshkosh Defense is giving Marines a close-up look at new expeditionary power and mobility solutions this week at Modern Day Marine, tools built to help units disperse, maneuver and stay effective in contested maritime environments.
The company featured two platforms during the April 28-30 event in the Washington, D.C. area. Both draw on Oshkosh’s proven designs to address the demands of distributed operations where traditional support may be limited.
ROGUE-Fires Brings Land-Based Sea Denial Capability
The Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires, or ROGUE-Fires, pairs the Navy/Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) with an autonomous platform built on the battle-tested Oshkosh JLTV. This setup delivers expeditionary, land-based fires that support sea denial and naval campaigns while operating deep in austere conditions.
Marines can position the system forward, maintain survivability and still contribute to larger maritime fights without relying on fixed bases or heavy logistics tails.
MTVR 4×4 Upgrades Boost Logistics and Mobility
The modernized Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) 4×4 now comes with exportable power and enhanced lighting. These targeted improvements strengthen the truck’s core jobs—logistical support, operational mobility and transportability—while extending its service life in dispersed settings.
The upgrades give Marines more flexibility on the move and help keep vehicles relevant longer in high-tempo, distributed operations.
