Campaign Evolved Just Revealed 3 Brand-New Missions

Campaign Evolved Just Revealed 3 Brand-New Missions

Ahead of its upcoming July 2026 release, Halo Studios has given fans a first look at the three new missions coming to Halo: Campaign Evolved, which should make fans of Sergeant Johnson pretty happy. Halo: Campaign Evolved is set to retell the original story of Master Chief from 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved, reimagined in Unreal Engine 5, with a couple of new features in tow for modern audiences.

First revealed at the Halo World Championships in October 2025, Halo: Campaign Evolved is the first large-scale remake from Halo Studios using Unreal Engine 5 instead of the studio’s proprietary Slipspace Engine. When it came to remaking Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo Studios decided to modernize the game with a few controversial features, namely adding the sprint mechanic and brand-new story missions to the game, which some fans felt were unnecessary for Halo: Combat Evolved as a package, but some were still eager to see it play out. Fan speculation of what those story missions would be like is now over as Halo Studios has given fans a look at what’s to come.

Halo: Campaign Evolved Shows off Three New Story Missions and July Release Date

At the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Halo Studios finally revealed what’s in store for fans with three new missions coming to Halo: Campaign Evolved, and they seem like beefy additions. Titled Operation: Meteorite, the three prequel story missions follow Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson one year before the events of Combat Evolved as they take down a Covenant research vessel, with Sgt. Johnson seemingly playing a huge role in the story. What’s more, Operation: Meteorite is set to include new enemy types and more weapon types from across the Halo series. Halo Studios has also confirmed that the game will launch on July 28, 2026, for Xbox Series X and PS5 after some rumors and speculation had put Halo: Campaign Evolved at a mid-summer release date.

In the two-and-a-half-minute-long trailer, fans can see that the Operation: Meteorite missions coming to Campaign Evolved seem to have a little bit of everything for Halo fans. Obviously, there is the standard ground-based combat, now with a new brute type that is covered in armor to terrorize fans playing on Legendary, but there is also a new space mission where it seems like Chief and Johnson are piloting a Covenant phantom variant, and of course, it wouldn’t be right to create a new set of Halo missions without at least one warthog run sequence, as shown in the trailer. Additionally, preorders for the game are now live across all storefronts at a modest $49.99 USD.
