Democrat leaders nationwide are in meltdown, losing their minds, or at least their compass. Nowhere is that more obvious than in Maine. Who in their right mind would vote for a party that?
Passed a bill to allow the kidnapping of a child in another state, conveyance of the child to the State of Maine, there to have their reproductive and sexual organs permanently mutilated?
Passed a bill to allow a fully viable baby, capable of living outside the womb – the way millions get delivered every year from viability on – to be summarily killed in the third trimester?
Passed bills that put hundreds of mandates on poor counties, cities, and towns, making Maine the highest property tax state in the nation?
Passed bills making affordability for seniors nearly impossible, always unpredictable, unfunded healthcare obligations, rising taxes, unsustainable energy and housing costs, subsidies for the rich who buy solar panels and summer homes, and throttling seniors with higher prescription drug taxes?
Undercut parents, families, and kids. Passed bills giving illegal aliens two years of housing, free electronic benefit transfer (EBT) credit cards (often used for illegal drugs), and advocated bills – including by a former House Speaker – pushing to allow illegals to vote? In what universe…does any of that help Maine citizens?
Passed bills trying to pull Maine out of the electoral college, yanking the state from that constitutionally created institution, which was specifically created to protect small states?
Passed bills creating an anti-democratic, two-bites-at-the-apple, non-constitutional, anti-majority rule institution called “rank choice voting”?
Passed bills lowering felon prosecutions and sentences, reducing crimes, time, and bail, and pushing early release of these violent felons back into the Maine society?
Undercut federal, state, and local law enforcement with policies that strong encouraged highly dangerous international drug trafficking groups – Dominican, Mexican, Chinese, and others – to come into the state and deal in mass distribution of fentanyl, meth, heroin, and crack-cocaine, to the point where a state has 10,000 overdoses?
Undercut education, in a dozen ways, with intention – from stripping girls of civil rights in schools to taking Maine from top in the country for public education to 49 of 50, crippling trades in the schools, jobs in the state?
Undercut Christian education institutions by suing to block them from resources that the US Supreme Court indicated they must receive?
Regulated individuals and businesses to suffocation, record bankruptcies, hundreds closing up or leaving the state annually, driven under or out?
Punished parents for speaking at school boards against gender ideology, faith-based opinions in classrooms, indoctrination in critical race theory, reverse racism, non-disclosure to parents, failures academically, attacks on girls’ dignity, privacy, and safety, electric bus failures that put kids at risk of electrocution, and claimed unions and administrators know better than parents?
Refused to take down 300 illegal Chinese marijuana grow houses, which take housing from Mainers, are bought for cash (from relatives of the Democrat governor), threaten public safety, are linked to fentanyl distributors via illegal ties, and lace their drugs with other drugs?
Diminished and refused to fund law enforcement at all levels, to the point of seeking to have state officials resist ICE, and when federal, state, and local law enforcement make sound cases, favoring criminal gangs over the victims of crime?
Refused to get effective drug treatment in place statewide, 315 beds for 1.4 million people, refused to leverage federal reservoirs like SAMHSA, DOJ, OJP, and OJJDP, instead accepting 70 young overdose deaths a month, just dishing 20,000 units of Naloxone, and calling that success?
Refused to understand the thousands of Maine parents who have lost children to Democrats’ negligence and uncaring policies?
Tried to bury, with the help of Democrat-funded media, a major CPA-driven audit which revealed more than $2.1 billion in questionable contracts, sole-sourced, papered after, to friends and family?
In what world is any of this high integrity, honest, worthy of trust, or consistent with safeguarding of the public safety, public money, affordable living, or genuine care for Maine’s citizens and children?
Bottom line: Maine’s Democrat leaders, this governor and legislature, are an objective disgrace. Too many Mainers do not know it. These leaders are not caring, competent, or worth trust. They are objectively dirty, corrupt to the core, defying laws, rules, precedents, and will of the people.
Who in their right mind would call that…leadership? Worthy of power? Time to reclaim Maine. Democrats nationwide, to speak frankly, have lost the bubble, lost the compass, and need to go.
